"Plant Yourself in South Park" -- an evening of walking, browsing, sampling and enjoying the neighborhood shops, galleries and cafes in historic South Park will take place March 26, 2011 from 6-10 p.m., free trolley from Juniper St. to Beech St.
Each walkabout features:
- Live musical entertainment.
- Shops open late, many offering refreshments and specials.
- Free trolley from 6 to 10pm, with convenient stops at main shopping areas (Juniper, Grape and Beech Sts.).
- Special offerings at South Park restaurants, coffee shops and taverns.
- Free parking at Christ United Presbyterian Church (30th between Elm and Fir), and Gala Foods (corner of Grape & Fern), plus plenty of street parking throughout the neighborhood.
Several local merchants will be offering a distinctly Aussie experience:

Tea is one of the staple drinks of Australia. In early days, even when rations for essential items were scarce, taking tea was never sacrificed. It was such an important ritual, it became part of the daily culture. We will feature sweet black tea and biscuits, a traditional combination throughout Australia. All teas will be free throughout the evening. Also, take 20% of all Japanese tea sales this month, with proceeds being donated to the American Red Cross Japan relief fund.
