Orpheus Speaks Presented By WriteOutLoud

Join us for a special performance and reading by WriteOutLoud, a unique theatre troupe that reads literature aloud for live audiences. Audiences and critics alike call them “Simply splendid”! The event takes place on May 2nd, 2011 at 7:30p.m.

Most of us were read to as children, but too few of us ever get the same treatment as adults. WriteOutLoud changes that with professional actors who breathe such verve into stories and poems that they seem to jump off the page--alive and aloud!

Orpheus Speaks is an entirely new and unique program, designed especially for the Athenaeum by WriteOutLoud to explore the irreplaceable, indispensable relationship of music in our lives.

Orpheus Speaks will feature A Wagner Matinee by Willa Cather (read by actor Tom Hall), 1944 by Ellen Gilchrist (read by actor Veronica Murphy), A Moving House by Pawel Huelle (read by Chip Persons), Of All Instruments from Joys and Sorrows by Pablo Casals, as well as other selections.

Location: Athenaeum School of the Arts Studio 1008 Wall Street La Jolla, CA 92037. Google Map.
