The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library presents for the ninth consecutive year an exhibition of artwork by scholarship winners of the San Diego State University School of Art, Design and Art History, on view May 14th through June 18th, 2011.
The SDSU Art Council selects students from the upper division of the undergraduate or graduate programs. This year's winners include Rizzhel Javier (Studio), Marisa Scheinfeld (Studio), Adam Manley (Studio, Seren Moran (Studio), and Daniela Kelly (Art History). Each of the award winners receives the opportunity to present their artwork or thesis paper in the Athenaeum's Rotunda Gallery.
The show is a consistent highlight of the Athenaeum's exhibition calendar. The artwork by these emerging artists often makes visitors to our Rotunda Gallery look twice-and then again. Innovative and energetic, many past winners have gone on to pursue successful careers as professional artists
Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, May 13th, 2011 at 6:30p.m. A short ceremony in the Rotunda will honor the winners.
Admission to the exhibition and opening reception are free. The exhibition is open to the public for viewing during normal library hours--Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The library is closed on Sunday and Monday.
