Bravo School Of Art: Monoprint Madness

Join Valerie Henderson to learn a quick and spontaneous, low tech printmaking process that can be done by anyone: third graders to professional artists with a workshop called "Monoprint Madness." This way of working is both expressive and forgiving. On a piece of Plexiglass, freely apply printing ink using a variety of tools including rollers, sticks, cotton swabs and fingers. Paper is placed on top of the Plexi and the image is transferred by applying pressure with a spoon, roller or press.
There is something almost magical about peeling back the paper to reveal the print you just made! Drawing skills are not necessary. The desire to experiment is the best starting point. Materials include a soy-based printing ink that cleans up with dish detergent. No solvents are used.
