Steel Pulse was formed in Birmingham, England in the inner city area of Handsworth in 1975 with the initial members of David Hinds (lead singer/guitarist), Basil Gabbidon (guitar), and Ronnie McQueen (bass). Steel Pulse started out with authentic roots in reggae, touching on Jazz and Latin music. In the late 80s, elements of Dance and urban R&B were added to their sound as technology became more popular among musicians.

Concerts are free with race admission. All concerts will be held at the Seaside Stage. The improved venue offers better sight lines, the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop and better access to concert-goer services and amenities.
