On August 10th starting at 5pm, come to the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego for the Book Lovers Affinity Group. At our upcoming meeting there will be two stories.
Books:
"Brighton Rock," by British writer Graham Greene; the first mystery our group has selected. The 17-year-old anti-hero faces a battle between good and evil set amid the contrast between the tourist bling and mobsters of an English town.
We're also tackling our first piece of classic Russian literature. In the short story "The Death of Ivan Ilyich," Leo Tolstoy's main character reflects back on the impact his life had on those around him.
