They were a generation that endured the Great Depression, defended freedom and democracy, and rebuilt the shattered world during the postwar era. Their example of service and national unity must inspire us for years to come.
To carry on their legacy on Sunday, August 12 2012, the Veterans Museum will be hosting a free "Spirit Of '45" event to commemorate this new National Day of Remembrance and tribute to the World War II generation.

Free admission, live '40s music era, clowns and face painting for kids, social dancing, food and drinks, over 200 local WWII Veterans of all military branches, local government leaders and San Diego celebrities!
