Summer Salon Series 2012: Beyond The Banner- Rina Banerjee & Gary Garay

Rina Banerjee will give a talk on her work, discussing globalization through specific moments in history. Her work explores personal experiences through an examination of larger themes of culture, anthropology, ethnography and the impact of heightened mobility between places on global commerce and conceptions.

Gary Garay will present a sound piece in the form of a “DJ set” playing Southern and Baja Californian vinyl records out of a donkey cart that could be found on the Via de Revolucion in Tijuana.

Create your own postcards in an art-making workshop, grab a cocktail in the Rotunda, and enjoy the evening’s ambiance.
