Join instructor Wendy Hammarstrom in Holiday Mandala making.
Mandala is a Sanskrit word for circle or wheel, or beginnings with no ends. The circle with a center pattern is the basic structure of nature, from the smallest molecule to the seeming endless Milky Way galaxy. Flowers, tree rings, snowflakes, sand dollars, stars and planets surround us, as do the conceptual circles of family, friends and community. Some people believe that creating mandalas is “making order out of disorder”.
During this workshop, express your feelings and process your thoughts about the time of year when the days become their shortest. Incorporate the holiday magic seen in wreaths, snowflakes, stars, tree ornaments, candles, winter foods and whatever seeps up from your unconscious. With paint or specialty pencils, create 2-sided Mandala ornaments to give as gifts for family and friends, or for your home. Materials list provided upon registration.
Date: Sunday, December 2nd from 9:30am - 12:30pm
