Sir Walter Scott's historical novel was transformed into MGM's most popular film of 1952, starring Robert Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, and Joan Fontaine. "Ivanhoe," set in the 12th century, shares themes and imagery with the 15th-century tapestries on view in "The Invention of Glory."
