The Invention of Glory features depictions of Europeans traveling to Africa to conquer lands and control resources. Five centuries later, director John Hutson and actor Humphrey Bogart give us the tale of a group of Europeans and Americans making their way to Africa in the hope of exploring the natural resources there. Difficult to categorize, this film has been described as a comedic parody of the film noir gengre.
Running time; 89 min; this film was rated R in 1953, but is appropriate for all ages by current Motion Picture of America Association standards.
