Los Tucanes de Tijuana came from humble beginnings in city of Tijuana, Baja California. The band came together in 1987 led by Mario Quintero Lara and started off their career playing in local night clubs. The now eight-time Grammy nominees have risen to the top of the Norteño genre, receiving numerous music awards from Mexico, Europe and the Americas along the way.
Los Tucanes de Tijuana are known for their fast-pace and energetic music which has earned them several gold, platinum, and multiplatinum records. The five-piece band, in their matching suits and hats, presents the sound and feel of old northern Mexico. Because of their dedication to Mexican music and culture, they are by far the most qualified ambassadors of both Norteño music and Corrido ballads.
