Transit Of Venus Across The Sun

We sold out of 6000 $2 eclipse viewers and glasses at North Star Science Store well before the May solar eclipse started, so get yours early this time – a new shipment just arrived today!

Last chance ‘til 2117 to view a Transit of Venus as it passes in front of the sun - among the rarest of planetary alignments, last seen in 2004. Learn about it in a NEW Transit of Venus digital short running NOW before every BLACK HOLES digital planetarium show screening. Join us next Tuesday to make a pinhole camera and learn more.

Then watch as the transit begins at 3:06PM, visible inside the sun’s disk at 3:23PM. Venus will skirt the right side of the sun until sunset at 7:54PM. Watch safely – and keep those solar shades handy!

Cost: Free Tuesday for SD Residents; Viewing Event Free
