Create a one-of-a-kind, hand-held silk work using materials, colors, and detailing inspired by the monumental Gothic tapestries in The Invention of Glory. The three hour workshop, led by Jane LaFazio, instructor and fiber artist, will begin with a tour of the exhibition for inspiration. Jane will give an introduction on the basic process of hand weaving and contemporary fiber art practices. Fiber arts works will be created by weaving silk and gold sari ribbons that will be hand-embellished with decorative stitching and miniature beadwork.
Gain a broader understanding of the breadth of works on view and experience instruction in a variety of mixed-media projects by purchasing the workshop series. The series is $140 for 4 classes ($35 per class) and is available exclusively for members. Join or sign up now.
*Registration fee includes all supplies. $50 nonmembers/$40 members
