The new free monthly film series sponsored by Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library continues with the screening of another classic film by Alfred Hitchcock, "The 39 Steps", on June 20th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Ralph DeLauro, co-founder of Cinema under the Stars and founder of the Central Library’s film series, a virtual fount of film knowledge, ever animated and entertaining, will introduce each film with interesting facts and “juicy gossip.”
Following the screening, he will moderate a discussion with the audience focusing on the techniques used by the filmmaker to tell his story. Mr. DeLauro, who has also taught film appreciation classes through the SDSU extension and the OASIS program, says, “We would like the filmgoers to appreciate what lies behind the surface story—the construction of the film and how it was put together for emotional impact.”
