The 2012 San Diego County Fair will truly be Out Of This World! Join us as we explore outer space — the wonder of the universe and our efforts to explore it, as well as the fun and imaginative world of science fiction and visitors from other planets!
From nationally known entertainers to animal and motorsports shows, the San Diego County Fair is non-stop entertainment, from the time the gates open until late into the night. Most entertainment is free with Fair admission!
The dates for the Fair will be 24 days, from Friday, June 8, through Wednesday, July 4. The Fair will be closed Mondays, except for July 2.
Admission gates open: 11:00AM, Tuesday-Friday, and Monday, July 2; 10:00AM Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday, July 4.
Admission gates close: 11:00PM Friday and Saturday; 10:00PM Sunday, Tuesday-Thursday and Monday, July 2.
Grounds close: Approximately midnight Friday and Saturday; approximately 11:00PM Sunday, Tuesday-Thursday and Monday, July 2.
Adults - $13.00
Ages 62 and older - $7.00
Ages 6-12 - $7.00
Ages 5 and younger Free
*Cash and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) are accepted for admission, ride and concert tickets. Some food and vendor booths also accept credit cards. ATM machines are available throughout the Fair.
The Fun Zone and Kiddieland:
Opens 11:00AM Saturdays & Sundays; noon Tuesday-Friday, & Monday, July 2.
Kiddieland closes: Approximately 11:00PM Friday & Saturday; approximately 10:00PM Sunday, Tuesday-Thursday and Monday, July 2. Fun Zone closes: Approximately midnight Friday and Saturday; approximately 11:00PM Sunday, Tuesday-Thursday and Monday, July 2.
Parking & Public Transportation:
Parking: $10.00 per vehicle ($15.00 for RVs) in the Fair's paid parking lots. Free parking and shuttle service is available every day at Horsepark, 2.5 miles east of the Fairgrounds at the intersection of Via de la Valle and El Camino Real. On weekends and Wednesday, July 4, free parking and shuttle service is available at MiraCosta College's San Elijo campus and Torrey Pines High School.
Bicycling to the Fair: Bike racks are set up at the O'Brien Gate ("main gate") and the West Gate (near the Fun Zone). You may lock your bikes at either location, using your own lock, at no charge.
Public Transportation: You can take the Coaster to Solana Beach, then catch a shuttle to the Fair. Or, take a bus. Please see the Public Transportation page for information on taking trains and buses to the Fair.
