First Friday Films: 'Dead Man'

This black and white postmodern Western, "Dead Man" (1995), starring Johnny Depp, Crispin Glover, and Gary Farmer and directed by Jim Jarmusch, is shown in conjunction with the exhibition "Walk from the Sun: Photographs of Southern California" by scott b. davis being shown at the San Diego Museum of Art. The moody and enigmatic black-and-white photographs in this exhibition deal with issues of both presence and absence, also themes found in this film.
Before the film, scott b. davis will give a talk about the exhibition and how the film, which davis chose for this program, relates to his work on March 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm at James S. Copley Auditorium.
The film’s approximate running time is 121 minutes and is rated R. $5 members, students, military, seniors and $10 nonmembers.
