In its 44th season, California Ballet Company enthusiastically announces its production of Cinderella May 5 & 6, 2012 at the San Diego Civic Theatre.
The timeless and magical story of the little cinder girl, her dashing prince, and her vile-yet-comical step mother and sisters will charm patrons of all ages. The wicked step-sisters played “en traveste” (males in female roles performed this year by Oscar Burciaga and Joseph Shumate) prove a perfect comic foil for the heroine. A particularly elegant Fairy Godmother, the iconic carriage and an elaborate ball at the palace lead to the final romantic pas de deux danced by Cinderella and her Prince.
