This annual Historic Children's Street Faire falls on the Sunday that ends daylight savings time. Come enjoy the world’s only festival that celebrates history by “falling back” in time. Tons of young children’s activities, entertainment, food, demonstrations and lots of family fun.
Get a front row seat as San Diego’s own Wyatt Earp defends 4th Avenue from the Alpine Outlaws! Show the kids what life was like before the age of cell phones, television and computers, as they try their hands at churning butter and candle dipping.
Watch your little ones strike it rich just like the Forty-Niners, as they pan for gold with real prospectors. Or capture a family portrait dressed in traditional, time-period garb. Grab your spurs and saddle up for an adventurous pony ride; take a moment to join a drum circle; or take a break and watch the entertainers on stage.
As your belly starts to rumble, scurry over to enjoy some grub. Have a free hot dog complements of Dick’s Last Resort, enjoy a free Ghirardelli ice cream sundae at the Sarsaparilla Saloon; or enter one of our pie-, spaghetti- and ice cream-eating contests and win some great prizes.
Entrance to this wonderful festival is FREE. Some activities such as the carnival rides will require a minimal charge. With loads of historical demonstrators and interactive activities, this is the perfect event for spending the afternoon with family and friends.
Location: 4th Ave & Island Ave. in front of the Gaslamp Museum. Google Map
