Through the lens of Haussmannization, a term describing the physical changes made to the urban landscape of Paris between 1851 and 1870, Dr. Julia Marciari-Alexander, Deputy Director for Curatorail Affairs, will explore the ways that politics, literature, and the visual arts - specifically images of women - intersected in the City of Light during the reign of Napoleon III.
Friday Morning Lecture & Tour Series (Third Friday of each month) focuses on works of art on view in the Museum. All lectures are followed by docent-led tours.
