"Once On This Island" is a story based on the traditions of storytelling, family coming together and love conquering death. The show is set in New Orleans present day, as a family has a house warming party a storm hits and they are left without power. The group pulls together to comfort the younger members of their group and they tell the story of Timoune and her journey given to her by the Gods.
The show also includes elements of "Romeo & Juliet" as well as the fairytale of "The Little Mermaid." The story concerns a peasant girl on a tropical island, who uses the power of love to bring together people of different social classes.
