The October meeting of the Escondido Democratic Club deals with the eleven state measures confronting voters on the November 6 ballot. Among them are a tax increase Gov. Brown considers essential to solving the state’s financial problems, Prop. 32, the Stop Special Interest Money Now Act, as well as issues ranging from genetically modified foods to ending the death penalty.
Those attending will learn more about these measures from Steve Rivera, a representative of the San Diego County Democratic Party, and a representative of organized labor, who will specifically address Prop. 32.
The meeting is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to Noon Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Escondido Chamber of Commerce, 720 N. Broadway in Escondido. (Google Maps) Admission is free and open to everyone. Light refreshments will be served. Parking is free on site.
