MCAS Miramar Air Show "Marines in Flight: Celebrating 50 Years of Space Exploration" Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; October 12-14, 2012
The world’s best military and civilian pilots will soar through San Diego’s skies at the world-famous MCAS Miramar Air Show October 12-14, 2012 featuring the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels and the Marine Air Ground Task Force simulated combat demonstration.
Other military performances include the Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier, Navy’s F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet, U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and U.S. Air Force’s F-16 Fighting Falcon.
This three-day event has proven to be a tremendous success in the past. The Miramar Air Show has the three-time winner of “Best Air Show” and other awards from the International Council of Air Shows, Cal Fest and International Festival Event Association and this year promises to be even better.
Attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators, the Air Show displays numerous types of aircraft from old vintage warbirds to the newest technology of fighter jets, along with more than 100 static display exhibits, where the general public can see civilian and military aviation technology up close.
The Air Show also provides a special Twilight Show featuring a spectacular fireworks display and the Great Wall of Fire (Guinness Book of World Records, 2002 edition) on Saturday, October 13. The MCAS Miramar Air Show is free admission and free parking to the general public. Gates open at 8 a.m. daily. Day shows run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Twilight Show runs Saturday October 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
