“Exploring Ethics” returns to the Fleet on October 17th and will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the publication of Rachel Carson's landmark book, "Silent Spring."
The speaker for October is Stephen Welter, the VP for Research at SDSU.
In conjunction with the Center for Ethics in Science and Technology, the Fleet welcomes guests to encounter science from an ethical viewpoint; brings together community leaders of various backgrounds to examine current scientific issues from diverse perspectives; and invites the public to explore with them how science can best serve society.
Scheduled for the first Wednesday of the month, during select months, Oct. 17, 2012—June 5, 2013. This month’s sponsor is SDSU.
