Early Music Ensemble of San Diego will present a program of music from the German Renaissance. The 5-voice group will present an a cappella program of motets and madrigals, works for 2 to 5 voices by Hassler, Schein, Isaak, Schütz and others.
Four times per year, audiences enjoy these unique concerts of vocals and instruments from the Medieval, Baroque and Renaissance periods performed in one of the Museum’s most popular collection galleries of European paintings, the Hibben Gallery. Holding these concerts in the gallery space allows audience members to better understand the culture and context of the time period in which European art was created and helps connect the art and music.
