THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
As part of the new Author Series at the Museum, Susan Adler joins the Museum Book Club (also new!) to discuss her book 'Saidie May: Pioneer of Early 20th Century Collecting' on September 14th at 7pm.
Adler's work explores the life of her great-aunt, an American expatriate who made significant donations of Modern art to the Baltimore Museum of Art and other U.S. art institutions.
Living in Paris before and during part of WWII, Saidie May became friends with many European Modernists, bringing Picasso to the United States for the first time, and helping Marc Chagall escape the Nazis. The author will discuss May's efforts both in Europe and in this country, as well as her legacy in the art world.
The author will also be signing copies of the book after the lecture.
No-host bar provided by Giuseppe's Restaurants and Fine Catering.
$10 members, students, military and seniors
