La Jolla Yoga Center: Arm Balances, Inversions And Floating Techniques With Carolina Vivas

Join Carolina Vivas for 2 hours that will power-up your yoga practice! Arm balances, inversions, and floating techniques are not just for advanced practitioners! This workshop for all levels explores the mechanics of these postures and teaches various ways to approach, practice and master them.

Balancing on the hands and going upside down is fun and exhilarating, but it also teaches us self trust and fearlessness. Try new things and let go of the fear that holds you back. Bringing awareness to the breath will keep you calm, present and focused - especially in challenging situations.

Abdominal exercises are weaved into this workshop in order to find the key element for fluidness. When the core is engaged, there is more control over the physical body and the center of gravity stabilizes. There are four levels of muscles that make up the abdominal region and we will be sure to target all of them.

By applying core strength and the techniques from arm balancing postures, we will explore "floating" from downward dog to your hands in sun salutes as well as jumping back from several poses to vinyasas.
