Join us on April 22nd and April 29th for two amazing films at the International Documentary Film Series!
Monday, April 22 at 7pm - "Sweet Dreams"
"Because of our history, people know how to fight against, but not for," Kiki says. "We want to change that equation." Kiki started Rwanda's first and only women's drumming troupe, open to women from both sides of the genocidal conflict. This uplifting film follows the women drummers as they start a business named Inzozi Nziza (which means Sweet Dreams).
Monday, April 29 at 7pm - "The List"
"The List" chronicles the work of Kirk Johnson, a modern day Schindler, who fights to save Iraqis who lives are in danger because they worked for the US in Iraq. Kirk compiles a list of those at-risk and works with lawyers to get them out of harm's way. Several Iraqis who now live in San Diego were on Kirk's list. Kirk Johnson will speak immediately after the film.
