'The Source Family' Screening At Balboa Park

Take a Strange and Beautiful Trip Inside a '70s Love Cult!

The Source Family was a radical experiment in '70s utopian living. Their iconic style, health food restaurant, rock band, and beautiful women made them the darlings of Hollywood’s Sunset Strip—but their unconventional behavior ultimately led to their dramatic demise. The Source Family (2013, 98 minutes) provides an intimate view of the ultimate California commune through their own archival photos, home movies, and contemporary interviews.

Join your Aquarian tribe as the spirit of love flows freely on the lawns of the San Diego Botanical Building in celebration of the ultimate 1970's commune. Feed your soul with a custom vegetarian menu created by Andrew Schiff, Owner/Executive Chef of Spread, featuring original recipes from the Source Restaurant, along with libations from Alchemy's master mixologists, and live bohemian music. Suggested Attire is 70's chic.

Cost: Tickets are limited and reservations are required. $36 Non-Member / $26 Museum of Photographic Arts Member.
