Why do we sing? Why does singing affect us as it does? Professor Narucki's lecture will discuss how singing has driven - and been driven by - our need to communicate and to understand our human experience.
She will demonstrate, through singing, the possibilities of the unique fusion of word, sound, and meaning that is integral to Western Art Music.
Susan Narucki, Professor of Music, is a Grammy Award winning soprano who has earned international acclaim in performances and recordings for over two decades. She joined the UCSD faculty in 2008 as Professor of Music.
