The San Diego Chamber Music Society Brass Quartet Holiday Concert

The San Diego Chamber Music Society Brass Quartet will perform a festive holiday concert on Sunday, December 8, at 2:30 pm at the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center in the "Pleasure of Your Company" music series sponsored by the Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library.

Their program will include traditional carols, popular holiday songs, and contemporary holiday jazz arrangements. Members of this premier brass ensemble include Mark Nowak and Michael Schmidt, trumpets; Bruce Dorcy, French horn; and Andy Moreau, trombone. Founded in 1998, The San Diego Chamber Music Society Brass Quartet features members of the La Jolla Symphony Orchestra, Cabrillo Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Baja California. Individually, they have performed with the San Diego Symphony, Orchestra Nova San Diego (formerly known as San Diego Chamber Orchestra), California Ballet, San Diego Opera, Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, Los Angeles Lyric Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Seattle Opera.

There is no charge for the concert, although donations are appreciated. Meet the musicians and enjoy holiday cheer at a complimentary post-concert reception.

As a special bonus, popular author Richard Lederer, history quizmaster and language columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune and founding co-host of “A Way with Words” on KPBS Public Radio, will be doing a post-concert book signing to benefit the Scripps Ranch Library featuring recent titles from his large bibliography about language, history, and humor and even books for kids--what a great way to get a head start on holiday shopping!
