Arts & Culture:
- (1st & 2nd graders) December 10 - 14, from 3:30pm – 5pm
- (3rd thru 5th graders) January 7 – 11 from 9:00am – 12pm
- (6th thru 8th graders) January 7 - 11 from 1pm – 4pm
The program is designed to educate kids about Japanese arts and culture. Campers work together on creative activities with exiting hands-on fun and learning. Campers learn Japanese arts and crafts, tea ceremony, ikebana(Japanese flower arrangement), Karate, anime, candy sushi making, sumie and fun games.
Garden Design:
-(9th thru 12th graders) February 25th - March 3, from 3:30pm- 5pm (M-F) & 9am – 12pm (Sat)
The art of Japanese gardens is believed to be one of the most important parts of Japanese culture for many centuries. Campers will learn the basic principles of Japanese garden design and explore the elements and symbolisms of the Japanese garden. The camp activities integrate gardening with arts where campers learn about composting, vegetation, Bonsai(plant in a tray), ikebana and horticultural tour in the Balboa Park.
