Join instructor Lauren Becker Downey by sing simple materials and techniques inspired from ones used more than 600 years ago, to decorate 14” wide fabric with freestyle designs using paint, stencils and stamps.
Learn about the significance of certain motifs, patterns and color that reveal the wearer's gender, age, status, wealth and taste in traditional Japanese Kimono.
Create your own meaningful, symbolic narrative to tell your story on the fabric panels. Sew this fabric to create your own kimono-like jacket.
Materials list provided upon registration.
