Don’t miss out; each of our previous after-hours parties for adults 21 and older sold out—a truly decadent time was had by all at The Sweet Science of Chocolate, Tap This: The Art of the Brew and Pizza, Pinot and Pi parties, so don’t delay in checking out the fun at That's Hot: The Fleet's Summer Sizzler on Thursday, June 13, at 6:30 P.M.
This event is open to adults ages 21+ only. I.D. is required. A cash bar features beer, wine, and cocktails.
Wear your best Hawaiian gear and paaahhrrrty like a true pirate with a tasty Deadhead Rum tiki bar mini-cocktail, then let them transform you into a rum expert at a tasting seminar. Slake your thirst with craft beer samples from Mike Hess Brewing, Aztec Brewing Company and Manzanita Brewing.
Meet Chris Clark, founder of Shaper Studio, joined by Andrea Yoder Clark and Juliana Biersback of SurfAid to delve into the science of surfing, focusing on the evolution of surfing and boards as well as San Diego's role in the sport’s growth.
Touch the sea creatures that Living Coast Discovery Center is bringing and see how environmental changes affect them as well. And be ready to boogie to the band Songs for People and DJ Kenneth Day!
As always, food & drink will be awesome! Take your taste buds on a trip across the Pacific by sampling Sushi On a Roll specialties and Sensational Treats' Hawaiian shave ice; then return to local tastes including wings from The South Park Abbey, an heirloom caprese carving station from Feast on This Catering and roasted beet salad from Carriage Trade Catering.
Tickets are $20 for nonmembers; $18 for students and military; and $15 for Fleet members, staff and volunteers, and Balboa Park employees.
Tickets for this adults-only party are on sale now through Eventbrite at www.fleetsummersizzler.eventbrite.com and at the Fleet ticket counter.
All proceeds benefit the Fleet’s nonprofit mission of furthering the public understanding and enjoyment of science and technology.
