Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, a Grammy-nominated band whose signature “supafunkrock” sound fuses jazz, funk, rock and soul, will headline the third annual In Concert for Cancer. Presented by Scripps Health, the concert will celebrate cancer survivorship and is sponsored by UnitedHealthcare.
The band’s Grammy-nominated debut album, “Backatown,” ranked No. 1 on the Billboard contemporary jazz chart for 10 weeks in 2010. The group’s 2011 album, “For True,” also rose to the top of the Billboard chart.
