Join the San Diego Police Foundation and “America's Finest” officers for the “Friends of the Badge Luncheon,” Wednesday, June 26 at the Valley View Casino Center (formerly the San Diego Sports Arena). Come join the more than 700 San Diego leaders and citizens in celebrating the men and women who protect and serve our great city every day. The luncheon is the Police Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year and proceeds of the event help insure that programs critical to public safety receive funding that is not available through the City's budget, or as the Police Foundation says, “Every Dime Fights Crime.”
This year’s theme is “Keeping Kids Safe Online” through the SafetyNet: Smart Cyber Choices® program. SafetyNet® is collaborative program of the Police Foundation and the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. It is the largest Internet safety provider in the region and has trained more than 75,000 middle-school-age children, teaching them how to stay out of harm’s way as they venture into the cyber world.
The annual fundraising event is put on by the Police Foundation, whose mission is to create a safer San Diego. Community support of the Police Foundation provides funding for much-needed equipment, training and outreach programs for the SDPD.
You can support the work of the SDPF with a monetary donation or by buying tickets to the event. Tickets for the luncheon event are $100 per person, with tables for $1,000. Sponsorship opportunities are also still available.
