Investigate the connection between Indian classical music and its influence on modern composers at Art of Élan's third concert of the season, "Dreams and Travels." Tap into the transportive nature of music.
Robert Aldridge's "Threedance," a highly rhythmic and lyrical work for violin, marimba and tablas is complimented by Indian classical music, recalling connections between contemporary and traditional music, yesterday and today.
"In Your Dreams," the 6th Season of Art of Élan, explores the unpredictable, terrifying, sensuous, and whimsical world of the subconscious. Four one-hour concerts examine diverse topics and range in musical style from the traditional and contemporary sounds of India to Tan Dun's haunting "Ghost Opera" and David Bruce's spirited work "Steampunk."
