From March 16-23, 2013, more than 40 events are planned throughout San Diego County. The festival will culminate in Expo Day at PETCO Park, which attracted more than 27,000 attendees in the previous year.
Produced by the BIOCOM Institute in partnership with UC San Diego and the Reuben H. Feet Science Center, the festival seeks to excite kids about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M) fields and their importance in everyday life.
Events include “Skateboard! Humans vs. Robotics”, “Superhero 101”, and “The Science of Justice”, all of which are hands on and live demonstrations of robotics, gamma rays and crime labs.
Admission to most events is free and open to all members of the community. Children of all ages are welcome to come and meet real scientists and engineers, as well as learn about their groundbreaking research and discoveries. Please visit the website for more specifics on event locations and admission.
