The La Jolla Symphony & Chorus offers its first, free, Young People’s Concert on Friday, November 1, featuring two works: Hector Berlioz’ “haunted” masterpiece (just in time for Halloween!) Symphonie Fantastique, and Edgard Varèse’s revolutionary piece for solo flute, Density 21.5, featuring Claire Chase.
Conductor Steven Schick provides commentary before and during the concert tailored for young audiences. Not recommended for children 5 years and under.
The family-friendly concert is held in Mandeville Auditorium on the UC San Diego campus.
