Art Of Élan: 'REFLECTIONS: On Hope'

Journeying through the various realms of faith and belief to explore the origins of hope, the second concert of Art of Élan's seventh season offers reflections on hope.
From the glowing worlds of Michael Gandolfi's "Winter Light," a journey for choir and strings based on poetry of Amy Lowell, to John Tavener's haunting "Song of the Angel," to Osvaldo Golijov's bustling cello solo, "Omaramor," a tribute to tango legend Carlos Gardel, we discover that hope and belief are drawn from all around us. We are reminded in Kevin Puts' Credo for string quartet, that from the everyday and ordinary, can come some of life's most profound moments.
Over the course of four concerts, Art of Élan's seventh season, "REFLECTIONS," uses music to explore what it means to be human; providing reflections on youth, hope, loss and humanity. Providing a "mixtape" of reflections culled from the internet, fellow musicians, former teachers, and colleagues, this series features unique collaborations, sounds from around the world, and newly commissioned works.
Attend concerts on February 25, or April 29, or purchase season tickets before October 15.*
