History tells a story about a steadfast coaling sternwheeler called the Bahia Belle that once protected the grim and murky waters of Mission Bay. In the fall of 1926, severed body parts were found regularly washing ashore and rumors flared of a vicious monster with giant razor sharp tentacles as the culprit. One night, the ship and it's brave crew left dock to find and kill the menace in the dark bay. They were never seen again. The Bahia Belle was found the next morning floating lifelessly with no one onboard. The date was October 31st. Legend has it that the elusive monster and the ghosts of the numerous people gone missing and mutilated still haunt the waters of Mission Bay.
