Spooky Silent Films At UCSD

Come and join the horror on October 31st at the University of California, San Diego. The Giesel Library will show frightful films on Halloween, including some vintage 16mm silent short film surprises featuring hauntings, vampirism, demons, and ghosts.

The Teeny-Tiny Pit Orchestra will perform live music and sounds as these silent films roll.

The audience will help underscore the action. Howl on a real Theremin, if you dare! Execute a mysterious glissando on a full orchestral harp. Rattle ritual percussion instruments from exotic lands.

Your host for the evening is sound scape artist Scott Paulson, a UC San Diego alumnus with an unusual apocryphal pedigree: he has been described by San Diego’s U-T as: “the love child of Garrison Keillor and Vincent Price.”

Cost: This event is free and refreshments will be served. Call (858) 822-5758 or visit for more information.
