Classical music and Jazz intersect when the La Jolla Symphony, conducted by Steven Schick, premieres five works written for symphony orchestra by jazz composers Miya Masaoka, Michael Dessen, Daniel Francis Marschak, Alan Chan, and Tobin Chodos. The new works are performed by the orchestra in a presentation that includes commentary by the composers, who will be in attendance.
This event is a collaboration with the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute (JCOI)/EarShot and is open to the public at no charge. Reservations are recommended.
