ABOUT COMMON SENSE:
Common Sense has established itself as one of California’s premier reggae rock bands. Their influences from reggae, rock and ska, give them a new roots sound of their own. Nick Hernandez, Larry Young, Billy Sherman and Phil Gough have been brothers in music for years and are committed to performance and sound they love. The band’s multiple personalities work together to craft soulful, intelligent sound that tells stories of real life. With heartfelt lyrics and melodic harmonies Common Sense delivers a true music experience. The group started out in the college music scene of Santa Barbara and quickly dominated the Southern California club scene. Noted for their high energy live shows, they continue to grow a loyal fan base. The band has toured with many legendary reggae artists such as Ziggy Marley, Steel Pulse, and Jimmy Cliff. Their far-reaching style has earned them a spot on national tours from the Van’s WARP Tour to Reggae Sun Splash and Reggae on the River.
ABOUT PAUL CANNON BAND:
Promoting peace, harmony and good vibes, the Paul Cannon Band is beloved by fans for their honest approach to recording and performing music. Blending elements of folk, beach rock and pop, the San Diego, CA-based group deliver guitar-driven melodies that demand attention for their catchy hooks and lead singer Paul Cannon’s earnest lyrical delivery.
Ever since he first organized the group in 2008, Cannon has remained the driving creative force behind the Paul Cannon Band. In the years since, the band has gained notice not only for their music, but for their dedication to health and environmental issues. In addition to working with a myriad of issue-oriented organizations, the Paul Cannon Band encourages listeners to support wide-scale issues like locally grown food and cancer awareness. The Paul Cannon Band released their debut EP "Organic" in the summer of 2011. One of the group's latest singles (2012's “Homegrown”) was featured on a 102.1 KPRI television commercial last fall.
ABOUT STRIPES AND LINES:
Progressive indie rockers Stripes and Lines have been packing San Diego venues for nearly four years, and are now touring throughout California as well as the east and west coasts. Stripes and Lines bring the old and new together with hints of Built To Spill; a driving rhythm section reminiscent of U2 or The Police; and a touch of Velvet Underground; topped off with four-part vocal harmonies that suggest the great vocalists of the 60s. It’s a potent combination of high energy with musicality that could only have been achieved after years on the road; the members of Stripes and Lines have toured extensively throughout the US with former bands. Sold-out shows with Company of Thieves and Fiction Family (members of Switchfoot and Nickel Creek) as well as performances with Manzarek-Rogers (featuring Ray Manzarek of the Doors); Switchfoot; Bedouin Soundclash; The Whigs; The Cat Empire; and more, have further confirmed Stripes and Lines one of the top bands to watch in San Diego. The band is a regular headliner to packed houses at the Belly Up Tavern as well as numerous other southern California venues including Los Angeles’ Viper Room and El Rey Theater. They’ve been featured on both FM 94.9 and 91X, San Diego’s top stations for new and independent music.
