'Boost Your Bone Health' Special Event At UCSD

The Stein Institute for Research on Aging presents "Boost Your Bone Health" at UC San Diego.

Osteoporosis is the most common health problem facing women today. Men are not immune. Men account for an estimated 30 percent of fractures each year. Everything you eat, drink, or do influences your bone health.

You may think you are doing everything right, but are you really? Osteoporosis expert and author, Dr. Diane Schneider will enlighten you and set you straight on Saturday, February 1st.

It's an excellent opportunity to have your boned density tested, consult a pharmacist, and talk with our physicians.

Dr. Schneider is retired from the University of California, San Diego where her practice and research was focused on the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. A graduate of Wake Forest University, the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and Harvard School of Public Health, she completed her internal medicine residency and fellowship in geriatrics at Emory University.

She is committed to educate all ages about bone health. Her consumer book, "The Complete Book on Bone Health," covers everything you should know about optimizing your bone health. She is co-founder and medical editor of, a nonprofit organization that focuses on bone health awareness and education for the whole family.
