Join us for the Distinguished Lecture Series with Scott Appleby covering "Religion and Peacebuilding: The Necessary Art of Specialization" on February 27, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM!

Scott Appleby, PhD, is professor of history and the John M. Regan Jr. director of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

Appleby examines the roots of religious violence and the potential of religious peacebuilding, and teaches courses in American religious history and comparative religious movements.

Currently, Appleby is the director of the Notre Dame research and education project “Contending Modernities: Catholic, Muslim, Secular,” and co-director of a Social Science Research Council project on “Peacebuilding, Development and Religion.”
