First Stop: The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles is home to one of the country's finest collections of American and European art created since 1940. Our visit will feature an educator-led private tour of the highlights of the museum's collection.
Second Stop: Walt Disney Concert Hall designed by architect Frank Gehry, this is one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world, providing both visual and aural intimacy for an unparalleled musical experience. We will take a self-guided audio tour of this internationally recognized architectural landmark.
The tour is narrated by Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor John Lithgow and provides insight from architect Frank Gehry and other key contributors. Enjoy lunch on your own at the architecturally impressive Concert Hall Cafe.
Third Stop: The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, standing in the midst of downtown Los Angeles, serves the total Archdiocese of more than 5 million Catholics. As the heart of all 287 parish churches and communities, it is the place where the Archbishop celebrates the major liturgies of the year.
The Cathedral serves as a "model church for all parish churches" in the style and contact of its liturgical celebrations. In design, art, and furnishings, the Cathedral is rich in cultural diversity in a city in which Sunday Mass is celebrated in 42 different languages.
