Tony Suraci As The Highwayman
Above: Promotional photo of Tony Suraci.
A tribute to Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson.
A long time favorite in the San Diego music scene. This gifted vocalist channels the spirits and voices of the original Highwaymen. Prepare to be amazed at how one man can emulate all four of these musical icons that forever shifted the course of country music. This breathtaking 2 hour tribute experience captures the essence of the Outlaw Country Movement made famous by the legendary Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Tony's All Star band features Buzz Campbell (Hot Rod Lincoln) on guitar along with the incredibly talented Holly Palmer. Holly currently tours with Seal and has recorded and toured with David Bowie and Michael Buble.
Don't miss your chance to see him live at the Belly up Tavern in Solana Beach on Friday, July 18th with special guest, The Tilt.
"Fronted by singer Jesse Malley and guitarist Jeff Irwin, San Diego-based quintet The Tilt plays a terrific mix of Southern blues, country and folk, with a touch of classic rock, a la Led Zeppelin.
Its recent batch of recordings show the group to be superb musicians, with Irwin’s stinging guitar lines a perfect match for Malley’s sultry, passionate vocals. As good as those recordings are, The Tilt is even better live, with a wonderfully eclectic set that can include mandolin-led tunes such as “Restless” or country slide-guitar workout “Oil Man” — all played with equal ease."
