Enjoy a summer full of fun and photography in Balboa Park with MOPA's signature summer camps!
MOPA’s annual summer camps are a great way for kids to enjoy their summer vacation in Balboa Park. Each camp features a different photographic theme and includes indoor and outdoor adventures with digital cameras, alternative photographic processes and film-making projects. MOPA is able to provide your camper with a digital camera to use during her or his week at camp.
One-Week Camps: Members $200, General $250
Two-Week Camp (9-12th grade only): Members $425, General $475
DIY: ZINE-OGRAPHY (Grades 6-8)
July 21 - July 25, 2014 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Venture beyond selfies and express your unique point of view by producing your very own “zine”, complete with original content and eye-catching photographs. Learn elements of street photography, documentary photography, portraiture and conceptual photography as you create images that will bring your self-made magazine to life. Show off your creation at our end-of-the-week exhibition and trade copies with other zine-makers.
Summer camps take place from Monday, June 21st through Friday, August 8th at MOPA in Balboa Park. Camps are half-day and are designed for children ages 4 - 17, or grades K - 12. MOPA is a proud participant in the Balboa Park Collaboration, which allows parents to combine a half-day camp with another museum for a full day adventure.
