The Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice invites everyone to the peaceXpiece Film Series taking place March 4-6, 2014!

FILM SERIES SCHEDULE:
March 4, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
"Honor Diaries"

"Honor Diaries" features nine women’s rights advocates with connections to Muslim-majority societies who are engaged in a dialogue about gender inequality. These women, who have witnessed firsthand the hardships women endure, are profiled in their efforts to affect change, both in their communities and beyond. Freedom of movement, the right to education, forced marriage and female genital mutilation are some of the systematic abuses explored in depth.

Discussion to follow led by IPJ Program Officer Jennifer Freeman. Film co-sponsored by USD's Women's Center and hosted by Nika Water. RSVP here!

"Eyes Wide Open: This is Media"

"Eyes Wide Open: This is Media" is a fresh look at our role in today's media landscape as consumers and makers. Through compelling interviews with digital pioneers, this documentary reveals the balancing act between being connected, responsible and maintaining privacy. A panel discussion featuring journalists, researchers, and students will follow the screening. Film presented by WorldLink and hosted by Outside the Lens. RSVP here!

"Circles"

Five people are affected by a tragic heroic act during the wars in the former Yugoslavia. Twenty years later, all of them will have to confront the past through their own crises. Will they overcome the guilt, frustration and the urge for revenge? Will they do the right thing, at all costs? Discussion to follow led by IPJ Interim Director Dee Aker.
